Embattled Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Sunday shared a bible scripture on his Facebook page.
The scripture which was quoted from Psalms 23 reflects the tribulations that he is currently going through.
The verse that he shared is a prayer to God from a person who is going through challenging times.
It expresses the strong faith that Christians have in God despite the temptations that they experience.
"Psalms 23...The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever," a post on Sonko's official Facebook page read.
The county boss was arrested on Friday over claims of involvement in corruption.
On Saturday, the office of the Inspector General announced additional charges of assaulting police officers and resisting arrest.
The governor will be presented in court on Monday.
