The veteran musician, according to Albert Gacheru, will be buried on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at his rural home in Kaharati, Maragua in Murang'a County.

"We are almost through with plans to give Kamaru a befitting send-off as our mentor and father in the music industry," said Gacheru, the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) national chairman.

Speaking to Kameme TV on phone, Gacheru, who is an established singer eulogised Kamaru as a kind and caring person who without him, he said, the music industry could not have been where it is.

"When I was starting my career in 1985, it is Kamaru who held me by hand and guided me on how to write sound lyrics and arrange instruments in a song. I know a dozen or renowned artists today who recorded at his studio for free...he was such a great man," Gacheru said on Sunday.

He spoke from Kamaru's home in Thome Estate near Roysambu, Nairobi, during prayers for the bereaved family.

Kamaru died last week while undergoing treatment at MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi. He succumbed to Parkinson Plus disease.

He was to celebrate his 80th birthday in November this year.
