Renowned lawyer and socio-political commentator Donald Kipkorir has urged the Tangatanga brigade to move on after suffering defeat in the Kibra by-election.
Writing on Twitter on Sunday, Mr Kipkorir appeared to dismiss calls by the deputy president Dr William Ruto for veteran opposition and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga to issue an apology for the violence that was witnessed in Kibra.
The lawyer said that no single person lost their lives in the by-election unlike in the 2017 general election, accusing the Tangatanga group of engaging in bribery.
"When Baba “lost” 2017 Elections, many of his supporters were killed or injured .. He was told to move on & he did & now we have Handshake & BBI .. In Kibra, no one was killed though TangaTanga used massive bribery & its Chief Campaigners carried stones : TangaTanga must move on, " Donald Kipkorir's tweet read.
Imran Okoth, the ODM candidate, was declared the winner of the by-election by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) with the governing Jubilee party candidate former Harambee Stars forward McDonald Mariga coming second.
The Jubilee candidate called the ODM victor Thursday night to offer his congratulations.
A section of the political pundits framed the Kibra contest as a 2022 dress rehearsal between Raila and DP Ruto.
