A man who was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly engaging in a sexual act with a dog has been arraigned.
The man, Boniface Mutuku was on Thursday presented in court and charged with engaging in bestiality act with a dog and strangling it to death.
The court heard that the accused person was caught with the dead animal in Mbondoni village in Isinga location, Kangundo Sub County, Machakos County.
The accused person however denied the charges before the court and he was released on a cash bail of Sh100,000.
Area chief Bethwel King’ele said the man was arrested following complains by residents after he held the dog captive for several days.
King’ele said the man who lives alone at an abandoned homestead is suspected to have engaged in the unnatural act with the dog before killing it.
Speaking to Standard, the chief said the suspect used a rope to strangle the animal adding that dozens of used condoms were recovered from the scene.
“In his own confession, the man said he defiled the dog for several days and later strangled the animal to death using a rope.”
“That is a very shameful and ungodly act which we cannot tolerate in the society. Those claiming the man is of unsound mind should also tell us why he decided to use condoms on the dog,” said King’ele as quoted by Standard.
