Through its Wings to Fly programme, the financial institution has promised to pay fees for the students until they complete their education.

The programme often sponsors 1125 students across the country and this time around, Nakuru has emerged as one of the top beneficiaries.

Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria has appealed to the students not to squander the opportunity the bank has given to them.

He reminded the students that the sky is no limit and time has come for them to show the world that they want nothing but the best at the end of their four years in school.

“This is a golden opportunity and the only way to appreciate Equity Bank’s gesture is to study hard and pass national examinations with impressive grades,” said Gikaria on Monday when he attended a function at the Anglican Church of Kenya Hall in Nakuru Town.

The sponsorship caters for the students' tuition, boarding fees, transport, books, uniforms, and pocket money.

The beneficiaries are 10 girls and six boys. The students hail from Bahati, Nakuru West, Njoro, Rongai, Subukia and Nakuru East sub-counties.
