Speaking at the event held on Friday at Telcom Grounds near Ngong Road, Raila introduced his party candidate and avoided mentioning Mariga, who was present, despite jointly announcing their contribution with Jubilee party leader, President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"Lastly, Kibra constituency is my house and I brought along my son, where is Imran? Please stand up. (Mwisho, watu wa Kibra. Kibra ni nyumba yangu. Sivyo? Niko na kijana yangu hapa. Imran yuko wapi? Simama watu wakuone.)," Raila said in a video shared on YouTube by Citizen TV.

While holding Okoth's hand, Raila asked the crowd whom they will elect come November. They roared back Imran's name.

"Who is the Kibra MP? (Mbunge wa Kibra ni nani?)" Raila asked as the crowd cheered him on.

ODM and Jubilee will face competition from Eliud Owalo who opted to use Musalia Mudavadi's ANC party.

According to IEBC, the campaign period for the by-election shall start on September 9 and cease on November 4, being 48 hours before the by-election, and shall run between 7am and 6pm.
