Murang'a Women Representative Sabina Chege has condemned Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria for making unexpected remarks against her Kiambu counterpart Gathoni Wamuchomba.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, Chege said that the remarks of the lawmaker were unexpected and saddening.
She said that it is high time Kuria learned how to address other leaders especially women as long as he remains in power.
"I was shocked to hear a male MP describing a woman's smell of undergarments. I want to condemn Hon. Moses Kuria for abusing the women rep of Kiambu. You do not have to like her, or agree with her opinions but you cannot demean her, " she said.
She also asked women under the umbrellas Inua Mama and Embrace to disband the teams so that they can speak in one voice.
She alluded that over years, women have lagged behind in terms of development behind the disunity existent between them. He also reminded the women to support the Building Bridges Initiative for the sake of their empowerment in the long run.
"When Embrace & Inua Mama were formed, we started the unnecessary competition and started talking from different perspectives. BBI is out, it is the high time women leaders in this country come together & find solutions," she added.
