Speaking in Bomet County on Friday, the Uasin Gishu County boss revealed that she was elected into the finance position because of her networks within the national government.

"Governor Laboso came into the council and we elected her the chair of the finance committee at the council of governors, having realised that Governor Joyce had an extensive network in national government and the ability to negotiate and engage other government agencies for the benefit of county governments, " the Uasin Gishu governor said

Governor Mandago said that the late Bomet county boss, alongside other women governors, strongly championed for gender issues.

He said he would remember her for the good work that she had done for the people of Bomet, calling on her successor to work to ensure that the drams that Dr Joyce Laboso had for her people are achieved.

Dr Joyce Laboso lost her long battle with cancer early this week after a long run with treatment.

She will be laid to rest tomorrow in Koru, Kisumu county where she was married.
