Speaking during an Akorino function at the Kasarani Stadium, Uhuru fired shots at the group, accusing it of engaging in premature politicking and insulting him in the process.

And though a section of them have since retorted back, Kimemia now says that Uhuru's outburst was right, finding it justifiable.

He says that the Head of State had every right to warn politicians against early politics, stressing on the need for them to instead channel their efforts to service delivery.

“We urge our leaders to bring down the political temperatures so that the country can focus on service delivery and development. This is what the people voted us to do,” he was quoted by the Standard.

Kimemia spoke in the company of five other Governors who attended the Central Kenya Economic Block meeting in Nakuru county on Friday.

Other county bosses who attended the meeting were Lee Kinyanjui (host), Kiraitu Murungi (Meru), Nderitu Mureithi (Laikipia), Mutahi Kahiga (Nyeri) and Ferdinand Waititu (Kiambu).

The governors said that their union is not a political formation, but called for a truce within the ruling Jubilee Party in fear that the disunity will have negative effects on development.

This comes at a time when the party members seem divided, thanks to the Ruto-allied Tangatanga and Uhuru-allied Kieleweke groups, with a section of others remaining quiet.
