ODM party leader Raila Odinga has been asked to intervene on woes racing Okoth Obado.
A Nyamira based politician Victor Swanya said Raila should not be campaigning in Migori while the county boss is in custody.
"The former Prime Minister should intervene and ensure Governor Obado is released on bond on Monday next week. There is no way Raila will be celebrating wooing Migori electorates to vote for ODM candidate in the coming senatorial by-elections while Governor Obado is detained in remand," he said in Nyamira town on Thursday.
According to Swanya, Obado's detention is political and was well planned by the opposition leader so that he don't campaign for Ochillo Ayacko's rival Eddy Oketch.
"Kenyans can now know the type of person Raila is. Since Obado was locked up he has never visited him nor commented on his arrest. Raila is happy with Obado's arrest because ODM candidate for the senatorial by-election will sail through without being opposed," he noted.
Governor Obado has earlier opposed ODM party's decision to give a direct ticket to Ayacko to vie for the Migori senatorial by-election.
