A section of Nyamira elders has called upon South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro and Dagoreti North MP Simba Arati to stop dragging Interior CS Fred Matiang'i into their political differences.
The elders further called on the two MPs to concentrate on delivering their pre-election promises to residents in their respective constituencies.
Speaking during a press conference in a Nyamira Hotel on Wednesday, the elders noted that they are not happy with how the two leaders have been discussing CS Matiang’i whenever they attend public events and during interviews on various radio shows.
Led by Borabu Elders Association Chairperson Edward Mayaka the elders noted that the MPs should leave the CS alone, arguing that he currently has more duties which have been delegated to him by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“We are not happy with the way MPs Osoro and Arati are dragging CS Matiang’i into their own political battles as we know the CS is working along with the president and has not announced whether he will be running for any political seat come 2022,” said Mayaka.
The elders' reactions come barely a day after the MPs dragged Matiang'i into the 2022 succession debate during an interview on Egesa FM.
