Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has warned members of the ruling Jubilee Party against ignoring Siaya Senator James Orengo regarding his latest threats.
Orengo on Sunday made remarks that have been translated to mean that he could be planning to initiate an impeachment motion against Deputy President William Ruto.
Speaking on Wednesday, Barasa warned that Orengo's remarks could be a revelation of bigger things to come, and a possible brewing plan to fight the DP and his future political plans.
Citing the latter's political level and experience, he said that Orengo is not a man who would just talk aimlessly, and the opposition might soon move to realize the threat.
"Orengo si mtu yeyote tu ila ni kiongozi mwenye tajriba kubwa. Pia yuko karibu sana na uongozi was upinzani na huenda anayoyasema yatakuja na ndio msimamo wa upinzani," said the Kimilili MP.
It loosely translates to: "Orengo is not just anyone and his experience cannot allow him to make plain remarks. This could be part of a bigger ongoing plan within the opposition and will soon come."
The firebrand MP was speaking on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Wednesday evening.
Ironically, the remarks came only a few weeks after Orengo again claimed that possible alliance talks are ongoing between the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The latter said that Uhuru and the party might unite for the 2022 general elections before the remarks were disowned by the ODM leadership.
However, Orengo has since come out to clear the air on the impeachment issue, noting that he was misquoted and is not planning to table the motion.
