Speaking on Tuesday, he hinted that he might join another party should there be no reforms within the independence party before the 2022 general elections.

He took issue with the leadership of the Baringo Senator Gideon Moi-led side, lamenting that Moi and Secretary General Nick Salat have nothing to show for their leadership.

"Chenye kitachafua uwepo wangu katika KANU ni party leadership. Ni ngumu sana kutoka katika KANU lakini huenda nikatoka kwa sababu watu hawataki kubadilisha (What will push me out of KANU is the party leadership. It might be hard exiting but I will have to because the party leadership never changes)," he said.

He was speaking on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha.

He added that the two have not made any positive impact in the party and should either leave the positions they hold or continue plunging the bloc into diminishing popularity.

The governor said that his lifetime stay in the party might come to an end before 2022, if his demands are not honoured by both Moi and Salat.

"Huwezi kaa tu hapo kwa Party Leader na Secretary General na hakuna mabadiliko yoyote kwa chama (You can't just be there as the Party Leader and Secretary General yet there are no changes in the party)," he added.
