Matiang'i urged the learners to focus on education first before entering into love matters.

"It has come to my attention that varsity students are entering in love relationships while still in school and this has brought about several unnecessary attacks and deaths caused as a result of love gone sour," he said.

According to Matiang'i, if learners will concentrate on studies, no student will be killed because of love.

The super minister challenged varsity students to stop being a burden to their parents who are sacrificing to pay for school fees.

"Some parents in Nyamira and Kisii counties are working hard to pay school fees for their children who later become a disappoint by engaging illicit love relationships. It is time youths who are in school to stop wasting the sweat of their parents," noted Matiang'i.

He was speaking on Saturday at Bomondo SDA in Nyamira county.

Matiang'i's remarks comes few days after Ivy Wangeci a medical student at Moi University in Eldoret was brutally murdered by  her boyfriend.
