Law enforcement authorities in Cambodia say that the body of a British backpacker Amelia Bambridge, who went missing a few days ago, has been found in the sea.
Bambridge was last seen last week merry-making in the company of friends.
The body of the 21-year-old Briton was recovered some 30 miles off the island of Cambodia and is set to be taken to a morgue in Sihanoukville on the mainland.
Alarm was raised after she failed to emerge from the October 23 party.
A search party consisting of about 150 volunteers including divers, navy personnel and visitors took on the challenge of finding her.
Members of her family also helped in the search.
Six employees working at the restaurant, all men, were questioned by law enforcement officers and released without charge.
The six men were questioned because some tourists had complained that the men had acted disrespectfully towards visiting women.
The Lucy Blackman Trust that was helping the family locate Bambridge confirmed the recovery of the body in a tweet.
"We are aware of the very tragic news from Cambodia. Amelia Bambridge's body has been found at sea. We are assisting her family. Please respect the family's privacy at this difficult time," read the tweet.
