The two, a class eight and form one students reportedly went missing from Shiandiche Sub Location in Kakamega North last week, with the police believing that they were misled.

They were found by Shiandiche Sub Chief Harrison Muyundo Okoli who says that he was informed that they were seen at the Koru Market, before going for them in the company of two police officers.

"The girls are recording statements at Koru Police Post. They will be taken for medical examinations,” the administrator told the Sunday Nation.

He said that the police believe that the two were convinced by some suspects to abandon their studies with a promise that they will be given jobs, and are pursuing two suspects in line with the same.

According to the mother of one of the girls, they escaped from home on Monday last week, and are suspecting an unfamiliar man who was seen in the village last weekend.

"We have been very worried about the safety of our daughters. After searching their rooms, we discovered they had carried some clothes along with their uniforms. We suspect that a man seen in the village last weekend left with the girls early on Monday," she said.

The chief said that the suspects are casual labourers, adding the girls were found unharmed.
