Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale has dropped the strongest hint yet that he may not attend the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rally to be held in his county.
The outspoken governing Jubilee party legislator said that he would only give his views to the BBI committee led by Senator Yusuf Haji.
"I will present my proposals to the Haji-led team because it is the one recognized by law. I don't address the problems of my people through public barazas. Issues of proportional representation and allocation of resources will top our agenda as a region," Aden Duale said in his Sunday tweet.
His strong words come in the wake of an announcement by Garissa County governor Ali Bunow Korane that the BBI meeting in the county has been postponed.
The Haji-led steering committee is yet to start sittings with the aim of collecting views from the Kenyan public.
Organisers of the BBI rallies say the rallies are preceded by meetings of the stakeholders in the regions where they are held for the purposes of coming up with resolutions to be given to the steering committee.
So far, four meetings have been held in Kisii, Kakamega, Mombasa, and Kitui counties.
The next meeting will be held in Meru County next Saturday.
