A human rights activist and poet has protested against increased insecurity in Bonchari Sub-County.
The activist, popularly known as Cliff Real Musiq, on Wednesday while condemning the murder of a 20-year-old bodaboda rider at Bomwancha village in Masongo, raised concerns over the increasing cases of insecurity in the region.
He asked police officers to move with speed to beef up security in the area.
"We have police officers and the reason as to why innocent people are being killed remains unknown. I urge police officers serving in Bonchari to intensify security patrols in the region for our people to be secure day and night," he stated.
He challenged local leaders to also intervene in the matter and ensure police officers attached to various police stations in Bonchari are working hard to improve the state of security in the region.
"Insecurity is a matter of concern in Bonchari and must be taken seriously. Our leaders should tighten their belts and push police officers to beef up security," said Cliff.
Kisii County Police Commander Martin Kibet while confirming the murder of the bodaboda rider identified as Ibrahim Omanga assured residents that security patrols will be intensified in the region.
He said there is no cause for alarm since there are enough officers to beef up security in Bonchari and in Kisii County as a whole.
