Murkomen Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen now wants answers from both President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto over the rising levels of graft.
Speaking in the Senate on Tuesday, the close ally of the DP did not spare him in demanding that he too comes out to speak on the corruption allegations rocking their leadership.
He insisted that only the two and most specifically the president protect and bail out their leadership which now appears like a cash cow for corrupt elements.
“The President should speak on the matter to change the perception that in every project being implemented, money has been stolen like the case of dams,” he was quoted by the People Daily on Wednesday.
However, he was challenged by his Migori counterpart Ochilo Ayacko why he was calling out the presidency yet there are independent bodies tasked with the job.
But the Senate Majority boss insisted that there is need for the two to come out on the most recent mega scandals and explain to Kenya what exactly is going on.
He claimed that the vice is on the increase and is being propagated by some top institutions in the nation in favour of the corrupt.
"We don’t know if everything said is the truth. We know there are some institutions that have been used to kill others and funds re-allocated to other projects. Systems have been misused,” he added.
