Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has now claimed that Former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka bribed some leaders to attend his meeting in Yatta.
In a series of tweets, Mutua said that the Wiper Leader gave the leaders some money estimated between Sh100000 and Sh20000 to attend the meeting as he seeks to remain relevant in the political arena.
“I pointed out that it is a pity that leaders were recently bribed to attend a meeting at Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka’s home in Yatta, late last year,” he tweeted.
He noted that is saddening when some leaders decide to bribe others to make them appear influential.
“It is embarrassing that leaders, some drawing salaries and allowances of more than a million a month, were, according to media reports that have not been refuted, bribed with 100,000 shillings to 200,000 shillings to attend the function,” he tweeted.
He called upon the Former Vice President and other leaders to engage in development matters rather than sideshows and propaganda. He further said that people are tired of propaganda and empty talk.
“Instead of bribing leaders, those dishing out cash should undertake works that benefit struggling Wananchi and not already comfortable people,” he added.
