The users of Windows 7, a popular operating system, may have to update to current versions of Windows operating system come January 14, 2020.
This follows the decision of Microsoft to withdraw support for the system, which was among the most popular operating systems ever released by the company.
When the deadline elapses, Microsoft will no longer offer updates or provide security support for computers running on the system.
This means that computers running on the Windows 7 operating system will be vulnerable to hacks from fraudsters.
Consequently, users who preferred using windows 7 have to make the difficult decision of migrating to the current versions of Windows operating systems where they can be guaranteed updates as well as security support.
The decision by the tech company to withdraw support one of its popular operating systems is purely based on financial reasons.
The company does not find it profitable to keep supporting a system whereas there are new and better versions of the system in question.
The end of the system began in 2015 when the company stopped offering updates to the system, thereby rendering invalid all warrant claims. However, the company still offered security updates and fixed bugs in the operating system, until it made the decision to withdraw support altogether.
The recent Microsoft operating system is windows 10, which is gaining popularity among users, and may even outstrip windows 7, especially now that users have no other choice but to move to the current version. It should be noted that Windows 7 will still work on computers but that will make your computer vulnerable to attacks.
