Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has criticised Deputy President William Ruto's allies for their numerous sacrifices to ensure Ruto clinches the presidency seat.
He particularly mocked Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali for 'kidnapping' himself when he was meant to hold a major rally in his backyard.
Amisi told Ruto allies that they don't need to go through all that trouble yet the deputy president has not helped them while in his current position.
"Dear Tanga Tanga crew. In history leaders have fought blood and tears for freedom and civil liberty. What are you fighting for? For Ruto to be president. How is he helping you now he is the DP to a point of kidnapping yourself just to file cash returns on time?" he posed.
Ruto allies were on Saturday teargassed by police in Mumias, Kakamega County, when they tried to hold an outlawed meeting.
Led by former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, they engaged police in running battles when they attempted to hold a rally to counter the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rally at Bukhungu stadium.
Washiali was reported missing on Friday night, on the eve of the outlawed Mumias meeting. The Mumias East MP resurfaced on Sunday, claiming he went into the hiding to escape police officers who were pursuing him.
“I heard sounds of vehicles approaching my home and when I peeped through the window, I noticed several police officers surrounding my compound. I knew they were after me because of the meeting we had organised in Mumias. I escaped through the back door and hid in a thicket behind my home,” Washiali said.
