Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has weighed in on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report that was unveiled today, Wednesday at the Bomas of Kenya.
Speaking at the report launch, the former vice president took a dig at bedroom politics that were witnessed during the Kibra by-election campaigns.
Kalonzo Musyoka said that going forward, the BBI would ensure that Kenya becomes the 'bedroom' of all Kenyans so that certain areas in the country are not seen as bedrooms of certain people.
"From today there will be no one's bedroom so that everyone can campaign everywhere, abuses can not build a country (From today hakutakuwa na bedroom ya mtu, so that everyone can campaign everywhere in the country, matusi hayawezi kujenga taifa), " he said.
The bedroom politics that prevailed during the Kibra by-election was disparaged by a section of leaders as an attempt to divide the country and lock out some people from campaigning in certain areas.
ODM used the 'bedroom' word as a rallying cry to get the voters of Kibra constituency to come out and vote.
The Building Bridges Initiative has been hailed as a game-changing document that will usher in a more cohesive country away from the divisive politics that have defined its past.
Committee members moved around the country collecting the views of Kenyans around the country which were captured in the document.
The report was handed over to President Uhuru Kenyatta in the presence of Deputy President Dr. WillIiam Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.
