Deputy President William Ruto has cautioned leaders allied to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Amolo Odinga against fronting a motion for the capping of church donations.
Speaking at Kangaita Catholic Church in Kirinyaga Central Sub-county during a fundraiser in aid of a church on Sunday, Ruto said that those opposed to church donations are enemies of the word of God.
He insisted that he will continue to donate to the churches as long as he remains the second in command.
He also said that those leaders behind the motion are in for a rude shock. He also said that the leaders who have been criticising him whenever he donates to the church are not aware of the wrath of God.
“Those trying to sneak a Bill to Parliament to limit the church donations are on a collision course with God and were calling for their downfall,” he said, as quoted by Standard.
He also said that the allies of the African Special Envoy are opposing God without knowing, adding that it is only a matter of time for them to start weeping and regretting over their actions.
“These guys are unknowingly against the Bible by seeking to limit the amount one should offer yet all that we own is God-given and the more we give, the more we receive,” he added.
Ruto also said that the Jubilee government has done all it can to transform the lives of the people. He rubbished claims of the existence of cracks within the Jubilee.
