Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has warned incumbent Governor Ferdinand Waititu against mentioning his name in the media.
According to Kabogo, Waititu has been mentioning his name in interviews with different radio stations and media houses.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Kabogo told Waititu that he has nothing to do with his current troubles where the governor is being investigated on graft allegations in his government.
“Bwana Waititi STOP mentioning my name at every opportunity you get on radio and media. I’ve nothing to do with your probs (sic), those are self-inflicted wounds. Beba Mzigo wako peke yako au na wale mliokula nao(Carry your own cross and that of those who you squandered public funds with). I sympathize but can’t help you. Stop shadow boxing,” reads Kabogo’s post.
The troubled governor was arrested by detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) grilled and later released over an irregular award of tenders valued at Sh588 million to companies associated with his immediate family.
On his part, Waititu has blamed the rivals of Deputy President William Ruto and his 2022 presidential bid for his woes claiming that he is being targeted because of his support for DP Ruto.
