Kiminini Member of Parliament Chris Wamalwa has weighed in on the upcoming Kibra by-election slated for November 7, 2019.
Speaking on Monday morning during a wide-ranging panel discussion aired on Royal Media Services-owned Citizen Television, the outspoken legislator contended that the Moses Wetangula-led Ford-Kenya candidate in the parliamentary race will pull an upset in Kibra.
Chris Wamalwa said that Khamisi Butichi is the candidate to keep a close eye on.
"Ford Kenya's Butichi Khamisi will surprise many in the Kibra by-election. He is the candidate to watch," the Kiminini MP said.
The curtains came down on the official campaign period on Sunday as set by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Kibra residents will go to the polling stations on Thursday to cast their ballots to determine who will be their next member of parliament.
National leaders descended on the constituency during the campaigns to drum up support for their respective candidates.
Khamisi Butichi, an engineer by training, has promised to change the face of Kibra.
Kibra has long been a turf of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party for years.
Veteran opposition leader and ODM supremo Raila Odinga has been the area's legislator for over two decades.
The seat fell vacant after the death of the area's former Member of Parliament Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer in July.
