Turbocharged racing cars will manoeuvre in the hills around Meru county during the KCB Meru rally racing set for Nkubu.
Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi will flag off the rally at the KCB Nkubu branch on Saturday.
Drivers will be expected to be out on a race that will enable them to be familiar with the routes they will race on.
Helen Kagendo who is the clerk of the course has denoted that 80 per cent of public roads will be in use.
Spectators will watch the race at the ASK Showground in Meru.
“We are not encouraging spectators on the rally route when the stages are live as we have set aside a designated spectator viewing point for all and sundry at the ASK Showground. We have a total of 500 safety Marshalls along the route on the rally day and half the number during recce," Kagendo was quoted by Citizen Digital.
“In addition, we have a total of 100 police officers and traffic police to help with the smooth running of the rally. We also have an additional 100 personnel from the Meru Youth Service and we are working hand in hand with boda boda who have been briefly accordingly on safety,” she added.
