The Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale has shelved the Gender Bill voting.
Duale, sensing defeat, said there is a need for more consultations ‘because this is not a normal bill’.
MPs opposing the bill schemed and denied the house quorum by being absent.
The bill required at least 233 MPs in order for a vote to go through.
The Leader of Majority said he needs more time to lobby.
He withdrew it and asked for up to February 2019 when he will re-introduce the bill.
