It was a sad day after a man aged 77 years crashed his five grandchildren to death along the Nakuru-Kericho highway on Thursday, January 3, 2019.
At the scene of the accident, mandazi, shoes, and books were strewn all over.
The impact of the accident was so bad that a Peugeot 505 which the six were traveling in became a shell of tins. The steering had coiled several times.
According to witnesses along the Complex blackspot where the accident occurred, the man was speeding when he lost control of the car.
He left his lane and rammed head-on with an oncoming truck.
Due to the speed, the impact left all the six occupants dead.
That is how a back to school journey for the five children, two boys and three girls, was brought to a tragic halt.
Drivers are always encouraged to drive at a speed they are able to control the car in case of any danger.
