A 28-year-old woman is nursing serious injuries in Borabu Sub County after her husband cut genitals using kitchen knife following domestic quarrel.
Neighbors said, Samuel Nyagaka, picked a quarrel with his wife, Rose Mong’ina, after she returned home late from the market.
“Nyagaka arrived home at 6 pm while his wife returned home two hours later. He questioned her why she was late and when Mong’ina answered him rudely he threatened to teach her a lesson once they will retire to bed,” said James Obare.
Obare said Nyagaka, who refused to take supper, picked a kitchen knife, hid it in the pocket of his coat and went to their bedroom at 10 pm where he severely cut his wife’s private parts.
According to Obare, the two have been having a troubled marriage and they were married 1a year ago.
Area assistant county commissioner Michael Lesmum said neighbors responded to the alarm Mong’ina raised, rescued her and rushed to her to a local clinic.
“The man has been violent to his wife on suspicion that she has an illicit love affair . He has gone into hiding but, we will catch up with him,” he said.
Lesmum said the woman is stable and responding well to medication.
