Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has hit out at President Uhuru Kenyatta over his failure to attend trade unionist Tom Mboya's memorial service.
The self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general further linked Kenya's founding father the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta to the assassination of Mboya.
Miguna shared his sentiments on Friday as Kenyans celebrated Mboya’s 50th anniversary.
He opined that Mzee Kenyatta allegedly assassinated Mboya because he was a threat to those propagating tribalism.
“Genuine celebration of anyone's life is to affirm the values and virtues they represented or died for. Jomo Kenyatta murdered Tom Mboya because Mboya believed in FREEDOM, was brilliant and threatened MEDIOCRE TRIBALISTS. The presence of Njonjo and Wako abused Mboya's legacy,” Miguna Miguna wrote on Twitter.
The outspoken politician who unsuccessfully vied for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in 2017 argued that President Uhuru should have attended the memorial service to apologise for the brutal murder of Mboya.
“If the #HandChieth meant anything, Despot Uhuru Kenyatta should have attended Tom Mboya's 50th anniversary and publicly apologized on behalf of his father, Jomo Kenyatta, and his fellow Kiambu Mafia, for having brutally gunned down Kenya's most brilliant leader in his prime,” said Miguna.
Tom Mboya who was one of the most influential politicians in the country was assassinated on July 5, 1969, outside a pharmacy on Government road, now known as Moi Avenue.
