Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has been asked to stop harassing his political enemies.
South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro in a video circulating online showing Osoro with North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko among other leaders addressing a press conference at unknown place claimed that the county boss is portraying impunity using government resources to harass his political enemies.
"We wish to condemn with strongest terms possible, the impunity portrayed by the governor of Kisii County James Ongwae in using the county resources to harass his perceived enemies when they question his corrupt practices," Osoro said in the video.
Further, the MP noted that Ongwae has started harassing his Deputy Joash Maangi and he will soon go for Members of the County Assembly given that he is hiding behind the handshake.
Osoro stated that the second term governor will of course not manage to harass the MPs elected in the county.
"We wish to ask the national government to ensure that the lives of those who are whistleblowers including DG Maangi are protected," added Osoro.
The MP expressed fears that EACC officers in the county will not manage to investigate the corruption at the county because the officers live in the county houses where they do not pay monthly rent.
