While speaking on Monday morning in a political show at TAACH FM, he said that amidst a lot of pressure from women leaders and other political divide, he chose the county assembly speaker because he is experienced and understands how things are done.

"We are running out of time, and picking Hon Shadrack Rotich was well thought, I wanted a person who understands how things run and not someone who will need fresh orientation, "he said.

The third Bomet governor assured the women that their rights are secured with his government, he further encouraged them to support his government for better service delivery and political tranquility in Bomet.

"I want to assure all the women that even though I couldn't pick a woman deputy, their rights are well secured and their challenges will be dealt with," he said.

He added that Bomet citizens should consider service delivery and not the gender of their leaders. The former county assembly speaker Hon. Shadrack Rotich will be sworn in as deputy governor on the 18th of Dec 2019.
