There was drama on Wednesday evening at Nyansancha village after a man and his wife exchanged blows after a drinking spree.
Witnesses said Priscilla Moraa and her husband Joseph Ombati, left a local bar when a disagreement ensued between them.
"Moraa has always been consuming alochol together with her husband. They disagreed on their way home after the husband refused to buy meat at a local butchery," said Ombongi Oremo.
Mr Oremo said the fight between the couple lasted for 10 minutes.
"It took the intervention of community policing officers to stop the two from fighting. Upon questioning the husband why they were fighting he revealed that his wife was forcing him to buy meat yet he didn't have any money left," he said.
One of the Nyumba Kumi officials identified as Peter Momanyi said it was shameful for the couple to fight in public.
"The couple have kids who they should take care of but, shamefully they have been consuming alcohol together. Unncessery fights won't be allowed," he said.
Area chief Henry Nyang'au said the woman was taken to a local clinic for treatment.
"The woman sustained an injury on her right ear. She was taken to a local clinic where the wound was dressed up," he noted.
He appealed to couples to stop consuming alcohol for the sake of building strong marriages.
