Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi has asked Interior CS Fred Matiang’i to stamp his authority on the issue of rogue police officers.
In an interview with NTV AM live, the senator said that he is agitated by the increased cases of police officers linked to various incidences of crime.
He said that time has come for the CS to stand up and ensure that the officers are held responsible of everything they do.
The senator said that it is saddening for the nation to wake up each day and hear a police officer has been involved in crime including money heist.
“I’d like to challenge the Interior CS, he has shown that he is a stellar performer in other areas now he where the heat is. If he is to live up to his credentials these are the issues he ought to tackle, “ he said.
The senator said that the rogue officers have become a threat to the nation. He further said that an immediate action must be taken to safeguard the nation against criminals.
“If you are going to deal with rogue police officers it has got to be business unusual. It's a big issue and we have to challenge those we have given the responsibility ensure the safety of Kenyans,” he said.
