DP Ruto opened several schools in the county, which he said will help improve education in the region, and allow more children seek quality education.

In a video posted by NTV Kenya, Ruto opened the Jogbaru Girls Day Secondary School and the Volunteer Mixed Day Secondary School.

Speaking while opening the schools, Ruto said that the Jubilee government has put measures to ensure education is available to every Kenyan child.

The DP commended efforts by the Wajir County government to improve education in the county, and urged leaders to support the government in attaining 100 per cent transition from primary to secondary schools.

“I want to congratulate the Wajir County government for working with the National government to improve education. We would want to see every child go to school because it is their constitutional right.

“The government has ensured that those who have completed primary schools join secondary schools. We ask every leader to ensure that they work with the government to enable every child access education,” he said.

The DP also commissioned a new power generator in the county, and presided over a funds drive that managed to raise more than Sh61 million for the construction of a madrassa in Wajir.
