Locals at Kisumu Ndogo on the outskirts of Eldoret town have been left in deep shock after a 28-year-old man decided to use money in cooking.
The man identified as Martin Onsonko is said to have been found by one of his neighbours holding a sufuria with notes while cooking.
According to locals in the area, the man said he uses the money is holding his sufuria while cooking following a directive from a witch doctor he had visited.
Asked as to why he cannot use a piece of cloth or any other thing to hold a sufuria apart from money, Onsonko said, "When my grandfather was alive he once told me that when I want to live without being broke I should go to a certain witchdoctor who gave me the instruction to hold the sufuria with notes. I believed in him and that is why I was doing that, I have not seen any changes but he told me that I should be patient so that I can realize the results."
The incident has elicited mixed reactions among locals at Kisumu Ndogo.

"This guy is not serious, how can he play with money like that," said Kenedy Mugambi.
"If he has nothing to do with the money, let him bring it to us we show him how to make good use of it," noted Fred Kanugo.
"That guy is not that he is rich, maybe he has his own reasons of doing that but it's not normal," said Sharon Kirui.
"Mtu anaeza tafuta aje pesa kwa shida halafu anachezea hiyo ni ujinga mtupu anafaa aangaliwe akili, (hown can someone hustle to get money then he plays with it? That is stupidity of the highest orderhe needs to undergo mental checkup" said a shocked David Kinyari.
The man has however insisted that he will continue doing what the witchdoctor directed him as he hopes to finally see its fruits as promised.
