Outa has been questioning the county leadership and usage of funds lately, a habit that has irked Okello who now wants him to handle the matter properly through the right channels.

Speaking on Tuesday, the MP challenged the senator to use his oversight powers to question the alleged misuse of funds and take the matter to the Senate instead of complaining.

Okello who is a sworn rival of the senator over their differences that emerged in the 2013 and 2017 Nyando primaries accused his predecessor of wrongly blaming Nyong'o.

“As leaders, we have always had engagements with the governor and the senator has always been there so we don’t understand his reservations concerning a number of projects and governance in the county," he told the Nation.

Okello now wants the Outa to raise the issues with the Senate County Public Accounts and Investment Committee, noting that his current approach is only raising political temperatures in the county.

“The endless squabbles pitting the senator and the governor in Kisumu County concerning the misuse of public funds and projects to be done are unnecessary and are only raising political temperatures in the county," he added.

Both leaders including the governor are members of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
