Mutua has come out to claim that JKUAT's Mombasa Campus has various doctorate degree graduates yet the campus doesn't have a single professor.

"JKUAT Mombasa Campus graduated 23 PhDs in the last three years although it doesn’t have a single PROFESSOR," he said in a tweet on Wednesday.

In a previous tweet, the lawyer called for the cancellation of PhDs awarded to learners during the varsity's 33rd graduation ceremony on June 21.

"The CUE must revoke the FAKE 118 JKUAT PhD degrees, not ask for yet dubious review as a coverup," he said.

The university came under public criticism after it awarded 118 students with PhDs during the 33rd graduation ceremony.

The Commission for University Education (CUE) launched an investigation into allegations of fake degrees being offered by the university.

On Wednesday, CUE directed the university's Senate to review the doctorate degrees offered at the institution.

Additionally, they were asked to review all the PhDs offered to students during the university's last three graduation ceremonies.

JKUAT's satellite campuses have also been blocked from offering any PhD course.
