Us-based law scholar and socio-political commentator Prof Makau Mutua, has urged Deputy President William Ruto, to do away with those who advised him to accept an interview on NTV, on Thursday night.
According to the professor, the interview by the deputy president was an exercise in self-destruction, terming it a public relations disaster.
"Methinks @WilliamsRuto should guillotine those who advised him to go on @ntvkenya with @KenMijungu. The man from Sugoi choked big time. A public relations disaster. Better to keep your mouth shut than to open it and be thought a fool and a fraud. Total self-destruction," Makau Mutua tweeted on Friday.
The interview was the first that the country's second in command has given in 2020.Opinion is divided along party lines and political allegiance on how he performed in the interview.
During the interview, DP Ruto sought to set the record straight on a wide array of issues including; corruption allegations that have been leveled against him.
Critics contend that he dodged the questions that he was asked, portraying him as a dishonest political operator.
The deputy president is expected to run for the presidency in 2022 on the governing Jubilee Party ticket.
