Step 1

Take the face-down position. Keep your feet together. If you are exercising on a cushioned surface then you can put the first and second knuckles on the ground for a tougher challenge. In case the surface is not very friendly then consider investing in push-grips to avoid different forms of injuries you are likely to encounter while working out.

Step 2

Position yourself on the heels of your hands and balls of your feet. Slowing move the feet back to assume the plank position. Your lips should be lifted in order to avoid back pain. The belly should sag slightly for ultimate comfort when working out.

Step 3

Bend your elbows while lowering your body. The elbows should bend outwards as you go down the floor. The leg and abdominal muscles should be involved in the motion as you work out. Ensure the hand and spine lie in the same position.

Step 4

Slowly lower yourself until you are about one inch to the flow. Once you have reached this position, gently push yourself upwards until you reach where you started. Move through the heels of your hands to go back to the initial position.

Note: Learn to support yourself properly before getting started
