The MP now wants the party youth to keep off the looming grassroots elections, until all issues are settled and a proper poll is organized by the relevant organs.

He has termed the polls announced by party Chairman Kevin Lunani in Busia county as illegal, claiming that party laws have been blatantly ignored in organizing the same.

“The purported youth league elections is a sham, fraudulent, deceptive and illegal as they have not been sanctioned by the relevant organs of the party,” he was quoted by the Standard.

Speaking on Friday Osotsi noted that it's not the job of Lunani to organize elections, but rather the role of the party National Elections Board, making the exercise illegal.

He added that a section of the party leadership has been using such narratives to realize completely different goals, maintaining that the exercise cannot proceed.

“The last time youth elections were held they lied to the registrar of political parties they were conducting recruitment because they knew the whole process was illegal,” added Osotsi.

The latter has been in trouble with the bloc over his closeness to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), and attacks on ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi.
