Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has claimed there is a plot by some politicians to deny Deputy President William Ruto the presidency come 2022.
Speaking in Ngeria on Friday, Sudi further alleged that some leaders from the DP's home turf are being used by some politicians to fight the deputy president.
"There are some politicians from the region being used to fight the deputy president's bid to become president. My friend you will not succeed. Come rain or shine Ruto will be the president," said the second-term MP.
The outspoken politician named businessman-cum politician Zedekiah Buzeki, Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny, his Moiben counterpart Silas Tiren and former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto as some of the politicians allegedly being used to scuttle the deputy president's 2022 bid.
"They want to use them so as to create an impression that the Rift Valley region has shifted its support in order to make Ruto concentrate on campaigning in his backyard. We know their plans and they will not succeed in their bid," added the Kapseret legislator.
He further said that Ruto is a national leader who enjoys the support of Kenyans from all parts of the country, adding that he should be respected by leaders across the political divide.
