State House spokesperson Kanze Dena has lauded Kenyans for continuing to register for Huduma Namba.
Speaking on Monday during an exclusive interview with Radio Maisha, Dena said that the government is impressed by the high turnout of Kenyans for the registration process.
She noted that the government reached the decision to roll out Huduma Namba, to ensure that Kenyans do not suffer from any forms of inconveniences while seeking services from the government.
"The #HudumaNamba registration is going on well across the country. The Government wants to consolidate all personal numbers to reduce the inconvenience and the need to carry around many cards, it is for our own good," she said.
During the launch of the programme, President Uhuru Kenyatta said that Huduma Namba will save Kenya from losing billions through corrupt deals.
He noted that there is a high number of ghost workers in the government and the new programme will solve the mess.
“Once upon a time in country, identification documents were used to monitor and control the movement of Kenyans, but today your Government uses identification documents to serve you and also to defend your rights as enshrined in the Constitution,” he said as quoted by Standard.
The government has been urging Kenyans from different walks of life to embrace the registration process for better service delivery.
