Lately, anxiety has grown within Jubilee party with a camp allied to Ruto accusing the president of allegedly implementing important undertakings without Ruto’s knowledge.

But Ruto insists that the president should not be put under pressure all the time adding that he had given him an okay to make decisions without necessarily consulting him all the time.

“I met the president and asked him that at times it is not necessary to involve me in decision making. In fact he has made a number of decisions without involving me.

“He is the president and has that executive power to make certain decisions. This reduces unnecessary bureaucracies thus bringing about smooth operations within government,” he said.

Among decisions that Ruto has reportedly been ignored include the historic handshake between Uhuru and opposition leader Raila Odinga and lifestyle audit as a measure of fighting corruption.

While Ruto has dismissed cracks in Jubilee administration, insiders say the party is struggling to reality over a number of MPs supporting Ruto and those backing Uhuru’s Big Four agenda.
