Allegations of him owning an aircraft emerged when he joked about lending Deputy President William Ruto a chopper to a function in Muranga county earlier in the year.

Speaking on KTN's Point Blank show on Wednesday night, the MP said that whatever he said at the function was purely a joke, confirming that he doesn't own any chopper.

"No I don't own a chopper, that was a joke," he told host Tony Gachoka.

He said that he was only trying to lightly explain that he saved the DP, who was running late, to attend the function in time.

"I was trying to explain why the Deputy President was late for some function and I said that he was almost missing the event and I gave him the chopper. It was just a joke," he added.

He faulted Kenyans for taking his jokes very seriously and translating his remarks to mean that he really owns an aircraft.

"Why we have got so many lifestyle diseases in this country is because people are taking life so seriously. What's wrong with a joke here and there? There is nothing wrong with it," said Kuria.
