Tuesday is the deadline for recruitment of the Public Service Commission (PSC) interns.
The commission in July called on applications for various internship positions which would last for 12 months for successful candidates.
''The public service commission is launching a one-year internship program. This program is to equip graduates with the proper skills in the industry,'' wrote the PSC on Twitter.
The applications which have been open for the last few months will be closed on Tuesday.
About 3,600 interns will be hired and placed under different departments across the country.
According to the advertisement by the PSC, those who will successfully be absorbed and complete their internship will be given certificates.
This move was introduced by the government in a bid to equip fresh university and college graduates (over 50,000 yearly) with necessary skills and knowledge.
The government noted that at least 20 per cent of people working in public service offices retire every year. Therefore, having a ready workforce will help fill the positions easily.
The applications for the internship position are being done online through the commission’s job portal.
The interns will be given stipend which will be agreed by the commission for the 12 months they will be working.
