In a tweet, the outspoken lawyer hailed Interior Cabinet Secretary's new role.

Mutua acknowledged that CS Matiang'i has been added more powers, more than those of a Cabinet Secretary (CS).

"Let’s just call @FredMatiangi Mr Prime Minister henceforth," said Mutua

Mutua, who once hinted on vying for the presidency, is a great critic of the Jubilee regime.

The Friday's reshuffle saw Matiang'i being charged with the role of the Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU).

The PDU, as well as the Directorate of National Cohesion and Values, were under the Executive Office of the President.

The two dockets were merged to form the State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services.

Matiang'i was then charged with its leadership by an order from the head of state.

“(This is) to foster the integration of the functions of Registration of Persons and the functions of Immigration,” said President Uhuru.

This is not the first time Uhuru is giving Matiang'i such great powers.

In January 2019, Matiang'i was appointed as the leader of all government projects by Uhuru through an Executive order.
