Siaya Senator James Orengo’s motion to impeach Deputy President William Ruto has continued to elicit mixed reactions from various quarters.
Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has now asked Orengo to reveal the details and motive behind the motion to impeach Ruto.
Khalwale, who has declared to back Ruto’s Presidential bid, said Orengo’s motion is ill-advised and ill-driven.
He posted the photo of the senator and asked him to shed more light on the same.
In an exclusive interview on Citizen TV, Orengo said that he is speaking his mind and not Raila Odinga’s thoughts.
He insisted that the impeachment motion is not Raila’s idea.
“It is me speaking; Raila has his mouth and I got my mouth. When I am speaking on behalf of Raila; which I have done before, I’ll say as much,” said Orengo.
He also revealed that he resolved to table the impeachment motion because of Ruto’s corrupt nature. He claimed the second in command has not been supportive when it comes to the war to end graft because he is culpable of the same.
“But when it comes to the DP, even after the war on corruption was launched, you open newspapers every other day and the stories you read about the deputy president it’s as if that war is not being fought,” said Orengo.
