Raila visited the county where he was attending a function at Kangoya PCEA church.

Shockingly, despite Raila’s new found love with President Uhuru Kenyatta, which has catapulted his political position in the country, no elected leader accompanied him.

Ferdinand Waititu, Senator Kimani wa Matangi and the 12 MPs from the county all boycotted Raila’s visit and instead left him at the hands of a few villagers and school children.

It is not yet clear why the leaders gave Raila’s visit a wide berth.

Kiambu County is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s home county and one of the most populous voting blocks in the country.

Governor Waititu and a couple of MPs from the county have all pledged their support before for Deputy President William Ruto.

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah, one of Ruto’s vocal backers from the area, was with the DP in Garissa on Monday.

As at the time of going to press, this writer had not gotten a response from Kiambu MP about his whereabouts when Raila was at his ‘home’.

Raila, was, however, in the company of ODM MPs Antony Oluoch, James Nyikal and Tom Odege.

Businessman Jimmy Wanjigi was also in tow.
